I was at my local garden centre last week having my car valeted, so I thought I would kill some time and have a browse around. I've come to realise that garden centres at this time of year (whilst not being so great for buying plants!) seem to have huge reductions on gifts, furniture and homewares. There is a particular shop in the garden centre that I always enjoy wandering around when I happen to be passing. It sells a variety of soft furnishings such as cushions and throws- it also sells candles, artificial flowers, mugs, and different items for the kitchen.
I couldn't believe my luck when I saw that they were offering 70% off selected items, and half price off everything else! Straight away one item caught my eye- it was this lovely industrial-looking geometric copper lantern now reduced to £9.99. It really reminded me of something you would find in Oliver Bonas. It is now sitting pride of place on my dining table. I absolutely love copper at the moment- I am planning on doing a blog post all about copper homewares soon so keep your eyes peeled!
