| HOME | Cheap Tuesdays! (31/01/17)

Let's overlook the fact that I completely forgot to do Cheap Tuesdays last week (fail).  However, I'm hoping to redeem myself this week by showing you this lovely turquoise vase from H&M Home ! Any colour flower would look beautiful in this vase- white roses, pale pink peonies, or bright yellow sunflowers. This item won't break the bank either at just £12.99 for the smaller vase and £17.99 for the tall one!

| HOME | A Cheeky New Purchase!

I was at my local garden centre last week having my car valeted, so I thought I would kill some time and have a browse around. I've come to realise that garden centres at this time of year (whilst not being so great for buying plants!) seem to have huge reductions on gifts, furniture and homewares. There is a particular shop in the garden centre that I always enjoy wandering around when I happen to be passing. It sells a variety of soft furnishings such as cushions and throws- it also sells candles, artificial flowers, mugs, and different items for the kitchen.  I couldn't believe my luck when I saw that they were offering 70% off selected items, and half price off everything else! Straight away one item caught my eye- it was this lovely industrial-looking geometric copper lantern now reduced to £9.99. It really reminded me of something you would find in Oliver Bonas . It is now sitting pride of place on my dining table. I absolutely love copper at the moment- I am plannin

| LIFESTYLE | What is Hygge?

If you are into interiors as much as I am, and read interior design magazines, then you have most likely come across the term 'Hygge' (pronounced "Hooga").  Hygge is a Danish word, which roughly translates as 'cosiness'. It is also about enjoying the simple things. To the Danish it has become a way of life- as the Winter days are long, cold and dark, they created Hygge to introduce a little happiness into an otherwise dull day. To some, Hygge might mean snuggling up on the sofa with a mug of hot chocolate or a steaming cup of tea and immersing yourself in a good book. To others it could be curled up in a warm bed with candles lit and listening to the rain outside. It may even be something as simple as lighting a log fire and warming yourself by it in the evenings, or enjoying some jazz at home with friends and a glass of wine.   Hygge to me means soft lighting and bringing a warm and inviting feeling to the room. The golden glow from the church candle

| HOME | The Mustard Edit

Mustard yellow is bang on trend at the moment. In most homeware stores, you are guaranteed to come across a mustard coloured item. Mustard is a pretty versatile colour. It can be used to add a pop of colour to a neutral backdrop, or even to brighten up a dark coloured sofa for example - my particular favourite is the combination of mustard and navy blue; I think the two colours compliment each other really well.  Here are 5 of my favourite mustard yellow homewares under £50.00 which are sure to cheer up your home!  Wild and Wolf 746 phone in English Mustard ( www.redcandy.co.uk ) £33.30 Mustard wool throw in English Mustard - 150cm x 183cm ( www.britishwoolblankets.com ) £49.00 Mustard and white zig zag chevron cushion ( www.zazzle.co.uk ) £25.25 Softness shaggy rug in Mustard - 60cm x 120cm ( www.therugseller.co.uk ) £34.99 Ecru frilled linen cushion cover ( www.zarahome.com ) £11.99   now on SALE at £4.99!
